VHS-C Conversion
VHS-C was the compact tape inside those late-80s and 90s home camcorders — the same VHS recording, shrunk down so a camera could sit on your shoulder at every birthday and school concert. The tapes are small, but they carry the most personal footage of all, and like all VHS they shed magnetic particles and fade with the years.
You don't need the old adapter, and you don't need a working camcorder — we play VHS-C directly on our studio equipment and digitise each tape to a high-quality MP4. Every capture is watched back and quality-checked before it's finished, and your little tapes come straight home to you afterwards.
Have them back as a download, on a USB stick, on a hard drive, or in a private Family Gallery to share with everyone who was there. Drop off in Collingwood or post from anywhere in Australia, tracked both ways.

Common questions
My VHS-C adapter is lost — is that a problem?
Not at all. We don't use adapters; the tapes are played directly on our own equipment, so a missing adapter makes no difference.
My camcorder is broken or gone — can you still play the tapes?
Yes. You don't need any working camera. We have the decks to read VHS-C in the studio, so all we need is the tapes.
The footage looks shaky and dim — can that be improved?
Often, yes. Ask us about light enhancement, which cleans up the audio and lifts contrast on tired old footage where it helps.
