A snapped, chewed or mouldy tape isn't always a lost cause. Over the years, magnetic tape can break, spill from its shell, grow mould, or seize up with sticky-shed syndrome — but in many cases the footage or audio inside can still be rescued once the tape itself is carefully repaired. That box you'd given up on is often more recoverable than it looks.
We repair damaged VHS, camcorder and audio tapes by hand in our Collingwood studio — respooling snapped or chewed tape, rehousing cassettes with broken shells, and treating tapes so they can be played and digitised safely. Because every damaged tape is different, repair isn't a flat price: we inspect your tape first, tell you honestly what can be saved, and quote before any work begins.
