Hi8, Video8 & Digital8 Conversion
The 8mm family — Video8, its sharper cousin Hi8, and the later digital Digital8 — powered handheld family camcorders from the late 1980s through the 90s. These little cassettes captured countless holidays and first steps, but 8mm tape is especially prone to sticky-shed and dropouts with age, and the cameras that read them are increasingly rare.
We handle all three 8mm formats on the right studio equipment, capturing each tape carefully and watching it back to catch the dropouts these formats are known for. Your footage becomes a high-quality MP4, and your original cassettes are returned to you safely.

How do I tell Video8, Hi8 and Digital8 apart?
You don't have to — the cassettes look almost identical and we identify each one when it arrives, then play it on the correct settings. Just send them all in together.
My 8mm camcorder is long gone — is that a problem?
Not at all. We read these tapes on our own studio decks, so you don't need any working camera; the tapes are all we need.
