Betamax was Sony's home video format from 1975, and though it lost the format war to VHS by the late 1980s, plenty of families recorded their most precious moments on it before it faded away. Those tapes are now genuinely rare, the players even rarer — and, like all magnetic tape, Betamax sheds and degrades the longer it waits.
We still keep working Betamax decks in the studio, so your tapes can be played and digitised properly rather than left unwatchable. Each one is captured, watched back and quality-checked for picture and sound, then saved as a high-quality MP4 you can keep for good — with your originals returned to you.

Yes. Working Betamax machines are hard to find, which is exactly why people send their tapes to us — we keep the decks so you don't need one.
My Betamax tapes are decades old — are they too far gone?
Often not. We clean and inspect each tape before playing it, and old Betamax is our speciality. If one truly can't be saved, we'll tell you before any charge.
