Audio Cassette to MP3

A black and brown audio cassette tape

Some of the most precious recordings aren't video at all — a grandparent's voice, a first band, a message never meant to be lost. Audio cassettes carried them from the 1960s onward, but the ferric oxide coating that holds the sound grows brittle and sheds with age, and playback machines are vanishing. Digitising them now keeps those voices with you.

We play your cassettes on quality decks and capture the audio as clean MP3 files, listening back to check each recording before it's finished. Every file is clearly labelled so you can find the right voice or song straight away, and your original cassettes are returned to you afterwards.

Take your recordings back as a download, on a USB stick, or in a private Family Gallery to share with family near and far. Drop off in Collingwood or post your cassettes from anywhere in Australia, tracked both ways.

$35.00 per tape

Flat price, every format. Blank or unreadable tapes are always refunded.

Common questions

Can you fix a chewed or tangled cassette?

Often, yes. Tapes that a machine has chewed or spilled can frequently be respooled and repaired before we digitise them. Send it in and we'll assess it — repair is quoted before any work.

Do you convert microcassettes and dictation tapes too?

Get in touch and let us know what you have. We handle standard audio cassettes and can advise on smaller dictation formats before you send them.
